The Designer

Hi, I’m Angela and I thought it would be appropriate to include a photo of myself on our wedding day; after all it’s the one day in your life when you’re probably wearing the most expensive dress you have ever bought and you actually feel good in it!

It was while I was preparing everything for our wedding day, browsing around wedding fairs and writing endless lists that I discovered the wedding industry to be quite ‘happening’ and competitive!  I loved the atmosphere and discussing colour schemes and to say I enjoyed designing and making our wedding stationery is an understatement.

I have been creative for as long as I can remember.  After graduating from University in 1999, I was fortunate enough to land a job in a leading stationery company, International Greetings Plc.  Not only did this provide me with a good grounding of the design process, it equipped me with the ability to design quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines whilst gaining a good understanding of commercial design.

I have designed stationery for all the leading high street stores, John Lewis, WHSmith, Next, Homebase and Tesco to name but a few and even designed Christmas crackers for the Queen!

My experience also landed me numerous freelance opportunities at The Medici Society Ltd where I worked alongside product managers designing beautiful greetings card ranges for The National Geographic, National Trust, Royal Horticultural Society and several archived licensed collections.  I absolutely loved riffling through original artworks by well-known artists such as Margaret Tarrant and Molly Brett.

My most recent position as a packaging designer at Fortuna International gave me a welcome change and pressed all the right buttons when it came to being particular about content, layout and the final proof!  I think you could say this is me all over; give me a fiddly or new challenge and I thrive on it!

After the arrival of our first child, I was excited by the thought of working for myself and so after 10 years of studio experience I took a deep scary breath and resigned from my previous position.

So here I am – one garage conversion later (now my studio!), the purchase of a great printer and Mac – I have never looked back!

Hopefully I have succeeded in gaining your trust in my ability to design something unique and special for you.  I pride myself in delivering a friendly and unique service to my customers, one that makes you feel inspired and excited to send out my invitations to your guests.  I love what I do and get huge satisfaction from pleasing my clients.

Most of my designs are printed and hand assembled with love and perfection in my Popsycool studio! xxx
